Cantilever Rack in Los Angeles, CA
Cantilever rack in Los Angeles, CA puts long stock on projecting arms instead of confining it between the front columns of a pallet bay. Braced uprights support pipe, bar, tube, lumber and suitable sheet packs along an open loading face. In an urban warehouse, the decision is whether that face remains reachable once receiving, picking and dispatch occupy the surrounding floor.
This business is a division of Warehouse Equipment & Supplies Co., supplying and installing since 1997. Our approach reflects more than 25 years designing, quoting and installing rack: define what rests on each support, then demonstrate how the equipment places and retrieves it without displacing another working route.
Cantilever Rack in the Downtown Warehouse Mix
Downtown LA and the Arts District warehouse areas contain industrial buildings where consumer goods, apparel and last-mile operations can share limited space. Long packaging materials, furniture components or production stock need assigned positions rather than leaning into a pallet aisle. We distinguish those supporting materials from the boxed inventory served by conventional pallet rows.
The Alameda Corridor connects the port freight network with the central industrial core, while I-5 and I-110 form part of the surrounding road network. At the individual building, however, doorway alignment and dock access matter more than the corridor name. Draw the actual loaded path indoors before placing a line that looks convenient on an unmeasured wall.
Older masonry and tilt-up footprints can make floor-space tradeoffs especially visible. A double-sided line offers two storage faces but also requires two accessible working sides. Consult the Los Angeles service-area hub for the broader system mix when long stock must coexist with order picking and reserve pallets.

Operations We Rack Around Here
Local industrial areas and access routes include the Arts District, Sun Valley, the Alameda freight corridor.
Cantilever Racking Measured Around Urban Access
The consultation follows the occupied building, including routes that must remain in use while the new storage is installed.
Measure usable frontage
Record doors, interior columns and the space available to set down or lift a long load along the proposed row.
Define load positions
List weights, pack depths and retained short lengths, then match arm lengths, capacities and upright intervals to those conditions.
Compare the drawing
Review a free CAD layout showing the loaded approach, with new material, freight and installation separated in the price schedule.
Install in released areas
Experienced installation crews we schedule and manage assemble the selected arrangement, anchored to the floor, and explain the designated loading positions.
Cantilever Storage Rack for Lengths, Packs and Sheets
Cantilever racking begins with the full range of pieces, not only the longest bundle. Column spacing must provide sufficient support for flexible material and for shorter lengths retained after picking. A rigid bar bundle and a flexible extrusion may differ greatly despite similar outer dimensions. Show the least stiff material and the smallest retained pieces in the load review.
Arm projection is matched to the depth of the supported pack, while arm capacity is checked against the weight it actually bears. Uprights and bracing carry the combined arrangement of those loads. Do not assume equal sharing where a sheet pack is offset or a bundle is heavier at one end; the proposed placement needs to appear on the drawing.
Single-sided rows may fit a building edge, while freestanding double-sided rows serve two aisles. Bases, stored ends and lifting clearance belong in both footprints. Forklift access is checked with the material aboard; a side-loader is an alternative when broad turns consume too much of the working floor. Indoor and outdoor specifications are reviewed independently, including the exposure of the inventory.
Read the cantilever storage rack overview for component options. Mixed pallets generally stay on selective rack. For repeated reserve items compare Los Angeles drive-in rack; for FIFO pallet release compare Los Angeles pallet flow rack. The purpose of open arms is manageable long-product access, not a promise that every warehouse item belongs there.
